Hello Reader,
Wow. So, it is now June 2026. The last newsletter was back in November. I never intended to have this much time pass, but that is the way it ended up happening.
Originally, I didn't send the last one in November because I ran out of time with cooking and preparing for our Thanksgiving celebration. Then when December arrived, I realized I needed to take that time to pour into and connect with my family and truly enjoy the season. I was planning to send a quick email out just letting you know I was taking a break, but it never made it to the top of the priority list.
Then I was all set to go full steam ahead for January. But our heat went out and we all got the plague (not really but we had illness on and off for three weeks). I blinked and February and March were over.
So I typed this newsletter out and had a few final things to add before sending it and God said no. It was a million and one things that would come up every time I sat down to send this.
Now that we have moved, gone on a two-week trip out of state, and are enjoying the sunny warm days of summer, here I finally am. Sending the newsletter 6 months later. Better late than never I suppose.
So, this week we have the very long-awaited naan bread recipe, a lovely throwback recipe, and a song I have been singing on repeat.
Pause and Ponder
And even though it has been several months, I don't feel bad at all about the time off. I realized sometime in the first week of January after some speed bump kept me from blogging for the hundredth time that week, that God was trying to remind me of something.
That my family is the focus.
That I do the blog for extra spending money FOR THEM. That I work to keep our food healthy and free of toxins FOR THEM. That I do all this with them in mind. And if I am pushing them off to blog then I am missing the whole point.
So, I stopped. I stopped stressing. I stopped rushing to meet deadlines that I had created for myself. I just sat. I played with them for hours on end. I curled up with them while they had raging fevers and just read stories and gave them snuggles.
I refocused and spent time writing down how I want my days and weeks to look like. How I can make sure I am spending time in the Word each morning. To have time tucked into pockets of the day for work, be that blogging or pottery. But also making sure I have times for rest. For date nights with my wonderful husband, time to read, time to just enjoy the life I have been blessed with.
And so that is what I am going to do going forward. My goal is to have the new blog post of the week go out on Tuesdays, and the Newsletter should arrive in your inbox on Friday or Saturday mornings. But if it doesn't happen, that's ok. I'm not staying up until midnight putting a newsletter together because then it affects how I show up for my family the following day.
As I go into the rest of 2026, I am letting go so I am not gripping things so tightly. I am working to bring God glory in all I do. And I am doing the things I need to do to be the best mom and wife I can be and trusting God with the areas where I fall short.
So, as we go into the rest of this week, pause. Ponder on this question: Is there any area of your life God is asking you to reevaluate? If so, how can you make changes to make sure the things that are priorities don't fall through the cracks?
What is new this week

This is the naan recipe that was supposed to join the curry soup back in November. But it is so worth the wait. I like my naan soft, but they can be cooked longer to get them crunchy. They are so delicious and brushed with herb butter, so every bite is just wonderful.

I created this recipe with Valentines Day in mind, but it has sat in drafts until just recently. Each bite is so rich, and filled with chocolate chips, and raspberries. And this recipe is a lot lower in sugar than most of the chocolate muffin recipes I found. They make for a wonderful breakfast addition or a nice little midday snack.

"We got dust on our Bibles, brand new iPhones. No wonder why we feel this way. We walk with our eyes closed, blind leading blind folks. And I'm done with those idols, and dusty Bibles."
Josiah Quuen has some amazing music, but this one in particular is such a great reminder every time I hear it. How easy it is to pick up our phone and lose 15 minutes, 30, and hour? And we do it all the time. But how often do we open the Word of God and get so lost in the pages we lose all track of time? Even if you read the Bible daily, this song is a great reminder to put aside the idols this world has to offer and keep your eyes on Him.

I love finding healthy and clean options for our family, but it doesn't always work to buy them online because I have to pay for shipping for each store, and shipping all the way to Alaska adds up fast. There is this great online storefront that is brand new and has partnered with clean brands to make shopping easier. You can shop from any of the brands on the site, and when you order, you are only paying for shipping once, even if you order form 20 brands at once. If you check it out, use the code "Unhurried" at the checkout to save 15% of your order!

Thank you for sticking around, even during my very long and unannounced hiatus.
See you again next week! (maybe...)
